ABSTRACT

COVID-19 has changed the lives of everyone for the worse in the world we live in. Even after two years, every part of the world is still being affected by economic downturns because of unemployment, downfalls in many businesses, and the closure of people in their homes. It has not only affected human health but also has an impact on the global economy that leads to job losses, business disruptions and makes us look back on one of the worst times ever for people on earth. Nearly all industries are declining sharply in their businesses, and the impact of this pandemic is so great that it predicts worse times to come. The present chapter has focused on the various industries which are most affected by the COVID-19 that has led to job losses and the downfall of the global economy. © 2022 Nova Science Publishers, Inc..

ABSTRACT

The world is likely to experience a major health crisis in 21st century history. The corona virus (COVID-19) has put all nations on its knees and shut down various sectors and industries, including education. Teachers, students, and other education stakeholders are currently embroiled in controversy over what will happen to the education system if a majority of governments around the world are given the power to divide society as part of a 'new norm.' It is for this reason that educational institutions are developing an online platform as an effective platform for teaching reading and ensuring that students continue to pursue their studies of various social boundaries but this has impact on the mental stress of students. Our present study tries to understand how online learning has an impact on the mental state of students as according to their different demographic profiles. The sample of 150 students of different education level have been taken. The study found that there is no impact of gender, area, age, and education level except Education year on mental stress of the students, ANOVA & t-test is used for the analysis through SPSS software. © 2022 Nova Science Publishers, Inc..

ABSTRACT

The lockdowns imposed by the governments worldwide is proving to be one of the most taxing repercussion of COVID 19 pandemic. One of the efficacious precautionary methods recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO) is to wear a face mask when in close contact with other people. In this chapter, Raspberry Pi 3 has been used to implement a TensorFlow-based Deep Learning Neural Network model that tries to recognize if a person is wearing a face mask or not using Raspberry Pi camera module. It also notes his/her body temperature using a non-contact infrared temperature sensor. The proposed solution is mitigating the problem where people casually avoid wearing a mask on their face by detecting face mask and measuring body temperature which should fall in the normal human body temperature range simultaneously. Various examples have been used to train the model to make it robust. The dataset consisted of 1509 images in which 755 images were with mask and 754 images were without mask. The proposed deep learning model has an accuracy of 97.8% for face mask detection after training on TensorFlow GPU 2.0.0 which is best achieved till date as per authors’ knowledge. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study is to focus on how the COVID-19 problem has affected business development. In doing so, it was found the lack of integration between disaster risk management, business, and COVID-19 literature. This research paper focuses on available literature by linking key concepts within the challenges and problems faced by entrepreneurs during the COVID-19 era and have had a profound impact on global economy. A negative impact has been felt on businesses around the world and many newly established businesses and start-ups sent many of their employees on unpaid leaves or laid off which caused job losses and an increasing number in unemployment.

ABSTRACT

Background: Vaccines are the-omit complex biological preparations that are meant to be used as a treatment or preventive measures against any specific disease condition. Vaccine research and development is a tedious, time and cost consuming process because of stringent quality assessment procedures. Every year approximately 80-85 % of the world’s children receive vaccines;however, regardless of this success rate each year, approximately more than 3 million die from vaccine-preventable diseases in most of the-omit developing countries. Today the entire world is facing a pandemic COVID-19 and the researchers are putting their best effort to bring a vaccine into the market. Developing a vaccine is a tedious process and emerging vaccine into the market requires a whole lot of process. Purpose: The current study aimed to evaluate the vaccine approval processes of two international pharmaceutical regulatory giants and develop a road map for the progress of vaccines in emerging countries to face the challenges posed by COVID-19. Methods: This article expresses the brief updated report of the regulatory approval pathways involved in the vaccines registration process in the United States of America (USA) the European Union (EU). The comparison study serves to understand the regulatory issues involved during the life-cycle of the vaccine approval process in the USA and the EU. Authors advocate the necessity of harmonised guidelines for the vaccine approval process in developing countries. Conclusion: Authors insist on broad global partnerships between the developed and emerging countries for the supply of affordable vaccines across the globe to face the pandemic called COVID-19. © 2021, Association of Pharmaceutical Teachers of India.
